Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer couples massages?

While I do work on both men and women, I am the only therapist so any massages have to be performed back to back and not simultaneously.

Do you travel to cabins or homes?

I only offer massage at my shop in Broken Bow which is about 15 minutes south of Hochatown. It is a very peaceful and relaxing setting.

How do I book an appointment?

You can send a direct message through Facebook messenger. You can also call or text 763-670-4898. I will book same day massages if I have an opening available but I ask that you call in advance.

What are the rates for massage?

I offer a 60 minute at $65, 90 minute at $85 and 120 minute at $130.

Do you offer prenatal massage?

I do have training in prenatal massage including endangerment sites to avoid and positioning for relaxation. I also have bolsters which allow you to comfortably and safely lay facedown.

Do you offer gift certificates?

I do. To purchase, please call or text in advance. I can set up a time for pickup or send it through the mail.

What type of massage do you offer?

I practice Swedish Relaxation and I specialize in Deep Tissue and Trigger Point Therapy. Deep tissue massage will work out the knots from stressed, overworked muscles and connective tissue (fascia) to alleviate immediate pain, as well as chronic joint and muscle pain. It also promotes faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation. The objective of trigger point therapy is releasing or softening a muscle knot to reduce (or eliminate) the knot pain and associated pain. My style is really a combination of relaxation and deep tissue.

Is Deep Tissue Massage painful?

Many people have had experiences where a deep tissue massage was extremely painful and they were sore for days after. This doesn’t have to be the case. If the muscle is warmed up properly and the therapist takes the time to relax the body then it is more agreeable to deeper pressure. I warm up the area very well and that way clients are not sore for days. Pressure can always be adjusted and I encourage you to let me know if you need a different pressure. If it's been some time since your last massage a little soreness the next day is normal. Always drink lots of water after a massage and ice the area if you are having pain.

How often should you get a massage?

A good rule of thumb is once a month. This helps to keep a baseline of maintenance and not allow tension to build up. This varies from person to person. The important thing is to learn to listen to your needs. If you find that you start to have pain and recurring problems in two weeks then you should get massage more often than a month. It’s good to view massage like a vitamin, if you don’t utilize it on a regular basis its effects will be diminished.
